How to Modify a Dry Sump Oil Tank (Bonus water to air intercooler review!)

After returning from TX2K we discovered we had a problem with the peterson dry sump oil pump in our Magnus Motorsports dry sump oiling system for the Forged Performance R35 Nissan GT-R shop drag car. We also learned that M1 Methanol is very hard on the oil itself and needs a way to get up to operating temperature as quickly as possible. In this video we cover how to modify a dry sump oil tank to accept a submersion heating element to pre heat the oil before we ever start the car.

In the second half of the video we also cover our ETS water to air intercooler setup that we installed and the benefits that it provides on a drag application to making even more power with a cooler and denser air charge coming into the VR38 engine that is at the heart of every R35 GT-R.
