What began as a mysterious viral illness in central China has grown in just over two months into a global threat. Chinese state television had rare access to hospitals in Wuhan, the city at the epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak that is now officially a pandemic. The CGTN footage details the work of frontline medical teams in the city as they fought to save lives and halt the spread of the coronavirus that as of March 12, 2020, had taken more than 4,600 lives and made nearly 124,000 people ill.
