Why Vintage Fashion is Going Viral: Revisiting Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Margiela & More
Archival fashion pieces from five iconoclastic brands are analysed by those closest to Raf Simons, Rick Owens and Maison Martin Margiela, plus designer Gareth Pugh and the threeASFOUR (previously As Four) collective as part of a new project by the fashion and concept store MACHINE-A in collaboration with legendary vintage fashion retailer Byronesque.
Highlights include the Raf Simons Riot! Riot! Riot! bomber jacket, Maison Martin Margiela 2005 ‘hunchback hood’ and vicious sneakers from Rick Owens S/S 13.
Combining both brands’ universes, the MACHINE-B project features a carefully curated selection of archival pieces that speak to the generation of tomorrow and are available to purchase through MACHINE-A. Considered part of MACHINE-A’s digital and physical retail universe, Byronesque have selected archival pieces which are styled into a series of looks in this video.
