5.5km Virtual Run in 4K at Ouro Preto Historical Downtown, Minas Gerais

Patrimônio Cultural da Humanidade, a cidade de Ouro Preto possui um dos maiores acervos históricos e culturais do Brasil, e quem visita seu centro histórico faz uma viagem no tempo e volta para o período do Brasil colonial.

Ouro Preto surgiu em meio à febre do ouro, em meados do século XVII, e seu patrimônio cultural justifica o porquê que ela era chamada de Vila Rica, uma vez que muitas de suas igrejas exibem peças banhadas a ouro.

Dentre os diversos museus da cidade estão às casas de grandes ícones da poesia e dos líderes da conjuração mineira, como o Tomás Antônio Gonzaga. Alguns, como o Museu da Inconfidência Mineira, contam a história do movimento. As igrejas, por sua vez, além das peças entalhadas e banhadas a ouro que contam um pouco da história do ciclo de ouro, são uma grande expressão do Barroco e do Rococó brasileiro, que têm em Aleijadinho seu principal mestre.

A corrida começa no adro da Igreja do Pilar, passando ao lado da mesma e indo em direção à Estação Ferroviária. Na sequência, uma vista 360º de tirar o fôlego no Morro da Forca, e seguimos até a Igreja do Carmo, passando pelo Teatro Municipal (o mais antigo em funcionamento das Américas). Após a Igreja do Carmo, uma volta na famosa Praça Tiradentes, que conta com o Museu da Inconfidência e a Escola de Minas. Seguimos, então, para a Feirinha de Pedra Sabão, Igreja São Francisco de Assis e Igreja das Mercês de Baixo. Continuando pelas estreitas ruas, chegamos até a Igreja do Antônio Dias e Ponte Marília de Dirceu. Depois de algumas ladeiras íngremes, voltamos para a Praça Tiradentes e vamos até a Igreja das Mercês de Cima, que também conta com uma vista fenomenal da cidade. Descendo a Rua das Flores, passamos pela Rua São José e vamos até a Igreja do Rosário. Finalizamos a corrida na Igreja do Pilar, novamente, passando por alguns chafarizes, e capelas.
Ouro Preto arose in the middle of the gold rush, in the mid-17th century, and its cultural heritage justifies why it was called Vila Rica (Rich Village in english), since many of its churches display gold-plated pieces.

A cidade fundada há 300 anos também abriga minas desativadas, hoje pontos turísticos, bares e restaurantes de qualidade, muitos deles localizados na Rua Direita.

The race starts at the churchyard of Pilar Church, passing beside it and heading towards the Railway Station. Then, a breathtaking 360º view of Forca Hill, and we continue to the Carmo Church, passing by the Municipal Theater (the oldest in operation in the Americas). After the Carmo Church, walk around the famous Tiradentes Square, which has the Inconfidência Museum and the Minas School. We then proceed to the Pedra Sabão Fair, São Francisco de Assis Church and Mercês de Baixo Church. Continuing through the narrow streets, we arrive at Antônio Dias Church and Marília de Dirceu Bridge. After some steep slopes, we return to Tiradentes Square and head to the Mercês de Cima Church, which also has a phenomenal view of the city. Going down Flores Street, we pass by São José Street and go to the Rosário Church. We finished the race at Pilar Church, again, passing by some fountains and chapels.
