Jay Spence Enclosed Shelter is a great addition to Greenwood Park that is located on the west side of Des Moines. This shelter is handicap accessible, includes heat and air conditioning and has a capacity for 35 people. Inside there are 8 - 44" round tables, 40 stackable chairs, a serving counter with sink and multiple electrical outlets. Outside are two picnic tables and a grill on the patio, as well as public restrooms and a drinking fountain attached to the shelter. There is a Spray Ground outside of the shelter that is NOT included with the rental, it is open to the public. A playground and tennis courts are within sight of the shelter. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED at this shelter. Rentals are seasonal from May thru mid-October; each daily rental is from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Rental fees Monday thru Thursday are $80.00; Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holiday fees are $100.00.
