1-Year-Old Boy Chokes On Food, Develops Pneumonia In Less Than 24 Hours

While our 1-year-old Royal was in Oregon, he was eating and asphyxiated and choked on his food a little bit, and then kept coughing and inhaled some food into his lungs. He wouldn't stop coughing, since he had food down the wrong pipe, and it caused him to throw up a lot. He wouldn't keep anything down. Cara decided to take him in to the doctor right away and they said he developed Pneumonia in less than 24 hours, which can be a bad sign. He had liquid in his lungs and you could hear it when he breathed. It was super raspy sounding and he coughed a lot. The doctor gave him antibiotics to help the infection in his lungs, but it was such a strong taste that he threw it up whenever Cara gave it to him. So if he didn't take the antibiotics we had to take him in to the hospital to get an IV that would give him the antibiotics. Pray that Royal gets better! Little sweet guy.
