A personal thank you message to everyone contributing to the fight against Covid-19 from from Sir Martyn Poliakoff, Professor of Chemistry. #WeAreUoN

I'm Sir Martyn Poliakoff, Professor here at the University of Nottingham.

I'm a chemist so I have no skills to fight this terrible Covid-19 disease, but I'm so proud and humbled by the fantastic work that has been done by my colleagues by the professionals at the University
and my associates who are contributing to the fight.

There are medics who are fighting from the frontline there's universities like ours who have
given equipment and labs to assist in the testing and they're all these individuals who volunteered to help those who are less fortunate than they are in the community.

I'm really proud of how the academic community is rallying round to join the fight for this disease.

So here, from my isolation, I thank you all and wish you every success in the fight.

I shall be clapping for you every Thursday.

So thank you very much we are all behind you!
