Consumer Price Index Volatility - Day and Swing Trading Setups (Jun. 2021)

CPI headlines dominated the markets today, with consumer prices rising at their fastest pace since the summer of 2008.

This led to volatility in the major index markets, but also set up some well-backtested swing trading patterns in a few different stocks and ETFs.

For day trading, price action fell inside of our Volatility Box zones towards the edge of the 7-8am PT hour, and reversed. Buyers came in, much more prevalently, in the S&P 500 (ES) and the Nasdaq (NQ), when compared to the DOW (YM) and the Russell 2000 (RTY).

For swing trading, there are quite a few setups which offer us backtesting patterns that have worked out in the past. At the top of the list, we have markets such as:
1. Bristol Myers (BMY)
2. PerkinElmer Inc (PKI)
3. TIPs ETF (TIP)
