Learn to play Shogi #5: Openings and Endgame

In this final video of the "Learn to play Shogi" series, I talk about how to play the game, starting with some common openings, typical checkmate patterns, and finishing with two short games.
Here are some pointers to learn more about Shogi:
HIDETCHI's How to play Shogi playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL587865CAE59EB84A episodes 17 to 20 talk about the openings
HIDETCHI's Shogi Openings playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5CD9EDBA4FC444A8
Wikipedia's Shogi opening page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi_opening
Tsume Shogi is a free app that has a collection of Shogi endgame problems
The book "Japanese Chess - The Game of Shogi" by Trevor Leggett is an English language introduction to Shogi.
I also purchased a set of books from the website Nekomado Shop: http://shop.nekomado.com/ The books are in English, translated from the Japanese originals. The series is called "Shogi at a Glance". I haven't received them yet, but I am looking forward to checking them out. This website offers Shogi equipment and also has other English language books on Shogi.
