The EX3600-6 is powered by a single engine. The time-proven Cummins diesel engine produces a total of 1 450kW (1 944HP) for handling the big excavation jobs, whilst complying with Tier II emission regulations. Operating weight of a backhoe model is 359 tonnes.

The EX-6 series also boasts Hitachi's computer-aided Engine-Pump Control which senses load demand and regulates engine and pump output for maximum operating efficiency. The large bucket has been shaped specifically to enhance scooping and loading operations. Its sharp tilt angle also helps boost operating efficiency.
