Why Going Viral Doesn’t Always Mean Growth (Part 68)

🎯 Likes, views, followers… none of it matters if no one actually cares.
I learned that the hard way. 😅

🧠 This episode is all about social media, traction, and a reality check.

I’ve been testing ways to grow awareness with zero marketing budget, using tools like Blaze.ai to plan and schedule Instagram content. The idea was simple: post consistently, link back to the platform, and see what happens.

So I tried safe, sensible content:
• Weekly player movers
• Match updates
• General tennis posts

Result?
📉 Zero traction.

The problem wasn’t frequency - it was boring content. Too generic. Too safe. Too similar to everything else already out there.

I also tested AI video tools like InVideo and VideoExpress. Then went deeper with better prompting and newer tools like Veo3 and Sora. Still… nothing really stuck.

Except one video.
A ridiculous one. 🙈
A guy in sunglasses, dressed like a gorilla, asking who’d win between Sinner and Alcaraz.
Thousands of views. 💥
And that’s when it clicked.

Views don’t equal value. If it’s the wrong audience, the numbers mean nothing.

Chasing algorithms is easy. Building a real community is hard.

So I’ve stopped trying to go viral, and simply focus on being real.
AI can help you create, but it can’t replace authenticity.
