Immunologist William Frankland is known as the 'grandfather of allergy' for his pioneering work. He survived a Japanese prison camp during the second world war. He worked with Sir Alexander Fleming. He invented the pollen count - helping countless people with hayfever or asthma. And he even treated Saddam Hussein.
