💰 In 2013, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) announced future tapering of its policy of quantitative easing that started in 2008 during the US financial crisis. The increase in bond yields in reaction to the announcement was referred to as a "taper tantrum" in the financial media.

🤷🏾‍♂️ However, the Fed did not taper its quantitative easing policy and the US stock market continued to soar.

🤔 This year, the Fed once again announced that they will taper quantitative easing and this caused another rise in bond yields.
