FROM DUST TO DIGNITY: THE STORY OF A WHEELCHAIR DONOR

Commonly known as Uncle Francis, Francis Mugwanya and his family struggled for nine years to get him a wheelchair, after a polio attack left him crippled at 3 years old. He was able to pursue his education there after with a little ease until he graduated as a social worker. He vowed to ensure that every person living with disability in Uganda who needs a wheelchair, gets one. Ten years down the road, he has through partners from the USA given out over 16,000 chairs and that’s just the beginning for him. Uganda has an estimate of a million people who need wheelchairs.

Crawl into WENTZ Medical Centre in Gabba, Kampala any day and walk out in a wheelchair, thanks to uncle Francis.
