The REAL REASON Why The Bucks DESTROYED Brooklyn

When you see this sequence it all becomes clear. As Harden steals the ball, look at all this space for him to open up a fast break. But you can see he doesn’t even try to push off as he knows just how injured he is, and is on the court literally surviving.
Thing is, KD didn’t score 49 this game, and Giannis finally made the adjustment we’ve all been waiting for so we’re now headed to a game 7. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
No, Antetokounmpo didn’t really guard KD except on 2 switches and you can see them right now. Despite the fact that he ranks at the top of this list of all the players who’ve guarded Durant since 2013. Look, you've got guys like Hayward, Deandre, and Tristan Thompson allowing over 60%, right in the middle is Lebron with 47.5% and Igoudala and P.J. Tucker right here, but at the very top allowing under 36% is the greek freak.
Despite that, the Bucks still didn’t put him as the primary defender. Instead Tucker scratched and clawed and fought against KD, and maaan this is why he’s always been one of my favorite players. Like look at this! I got tired just watching this.
Kevin Durant Game 6: 32 PTS / 11 REB / 15-30 FG
The fact that Durant still shot 50% from the field is a testament to how great of a player he is and possibly the best offensive weapon that this league has ever seen.
But just as I said in my previous video, it will be extremely tough for him to have another game like that again, let alone on the road.
And as you saw in that opening clip, with Harden playing on 1 leg, the others not really providing support, Milwaukee was able to blow this game open at the end.
And they did that in part because of this adjustment by Giannis.
As you look at his shooting chart, you can see how decisive he was on going to the basket and not settling for some silly jumpers.
According to some advanced tracking data, Giannis’s average shot distance in game 6 was 5.6 feet or 1.7 meters from the basket. That’s the closest he’s been shooting from throughout these playoffs.
And yeah, as you see these highlights, everything is at the rim.
Giannis didn’t attempt a 3. (Last playoff game: April 2018)
Actually, 1 interesting fact is that he did not attempt a single 3 pointer.
The last time he went an entire playoff game without shooting a 3 was in April of 2018. 3 years ago.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Game 6: 30 PTS / 17 REB / 12-20 FG
And the result is 12-20 from the field and a win.
I don’t know too much about basketball and strategy, but it seems to me that this is working. I’m very curious to see if he repeats this in game 7.
Khris Middleton Game 6: 38 PTS / 10 REB / 5 AST / 5 STL / 11-16 FG
But as big as Antetokounmpo was, Khris Middleton really exploded in this one. Shooting 11-16 a phenomenal performance. After that horrible 8 for 22 he needed to step up to help his team force a game 7 and he did that. However I have to admit that Middleton has always been a hot and cold type of player for me when it comes to big games, so I wanna see how he does when everything is on the line, and Milwaukee will definitely need another big game from him.
The pressure is already building, so let me provide a small comedic relief with this video of Giannis at the line that seemingly lasts forever.
Look at all the theatrics, and everyone is just standing there waiting for him. The only one more frustrated than Harden is probably myself since the game started at 3am. I don’t have all night to wait for this, come on Giannis.
Anyway, let me know in the comments who you got in game 7. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
