Converting Cheap Router to Wireless AP Instructions

Extend your WiFi network's range by adding a cheap second wireless router and configuring as a wireless AP (Access Point) to boost your existing network distance.
1, Disable the DHCP Server. This will turn off routing capability of AP.
2. Assign an IP address within main router's subnet but outside the DHCP range (i.e. 192.168.1.2).
3. Assign different wireless channel (1, 6 or 11 only) with same SSID and password.
4. Connect network cable and any other wired computers to LAN port only. Do not use WAN port.
In this tutorial I have a DD-WRT firmware on a Linksys (Cisco) WRT54G v8.0 router. Using a cheap router is better than buying a dedicated wireless access point as you save money and get more capability (has built in 4-port switch hub). For maximum coverage and range you can add a third wireless AP.
NOTE: I added annotations to video to fill in gaps and errors. If you cannot see the annotation try different web browser as they will help.
