Protests erupt in Bilbao after flotilla members were beaten by local police

Large protests erupted in Bilbao, in the north of Spain, on Sunday against the local police's assault on Flotilla activists at Bilbao Airport after their return from Israel on Saturday.

Footage of the assault spread widely online, drawing condemnation of the police’s excessive use of force against the activists, who had returned home after days in Israeli detention.
