Donald Trump Talks About Upstaging Ted Cruz at RNC | THE CIRCUS | SHOWTIME

In his first interview after accepting the Republican presidential nomination, Donald J. Trump told Mark Halperin for THE CIRCUS that he saved former primary campaign rival Sen. Ted Cruz from being “ripped” off the stage by booing delegates when he entered the convention arena at the Republican National Convention. The interview was conducted on Friday, July 22, 2016, before the attack in Munich, the selection of Tim Kaine as Hillary Clinton’s running mate was announced, or the TV ratings for Thursday’s convention session were known.
