Cheyenne Harris Trial Day 1: The Death of Baby Sterling.

Cheyenne Harris went on trial for the death of her son, Sterling, on January 29, 2019. She was accused of 1st Degree Murder in one of the worst Neglect cases I have ever heard of before.

At just 4 months old, Baby Sterling was found dead on August 30, 2017. His father, Zachary Koehn, called the police that afternoon after Cheyenne Harris has said to have gone in to check on him in his room and found him dead. She explained that she had last seen him the night before, at which time she fed and changed him before bed. This was quickly proven to be VERY UNTRUE.

The authorities found Sterling's tiny body in an electric swing facing a wall in his room, which appeared to be the location that they basically hid this poor baby. He was covered in dirty, crusty clothes and blankets, along with flies, maggots and a diaper filled with sewage. He had not been cleaned, changed or fed in weeks. The feces in his diapers had attracted flies that had caused maggots to live on his clothes, skin and in his diaper.

It was stated that he had died of severe diaper rash. His skin had decayed and he had an e.coli infection. He died of e.coli, dehydration and malnutrition. He also had blood coming from his mouth and on his clenched fist. He had lived through this devastation for up to 14 days before dying, which means he felt the bugs crawling, the diaper rash and all of the misery from being uncared for, unloved and left to rot.

The prosecution's case is based on the obvious neglect and torturous behavior by Cheyenne Harris. The defense's case is that "the monster in this case is mental illness" and wants to prove that it was Cheyenne's depression and drug use that caused this death.
