Our Suburban Gorilla Project (2002-2005)

This is a video summary of our project that started in 2002 with a 1979 Chevy Suburban donor vehicle.

We had zero prior automotive repair or maintenance experience, so it was a great learning adventure for all of us. We have a website for the project at www.suburbangorilla.com.

In summary, we installed an Urban Gorilla H1 look-alike body onto it, and gave it a rebuilt Chevy 350ci V8 engine with the original bullet-proof 350 Turbo automatic transmission. On the engine we installed an Edelbrock 650 cfm 4-barrel carburetor, a performance intake manifold, performance headers and a towing cam. To make a fitting H1 profile, we also installed 37-inch Super Swamper off road tires.

We think it looked awesome once we were done!
