Welcome to my VFX online course on creating the perfect wave using
Houdini. As a lifelong surfer and Senior VFX Artist at MPC, one of the
leading VFX studios in the world, I have spent many years studying and
mastering the art of designing and controlling fluid simulations.

In this course, we will go beyond just creating random waves and delve
into a deeper understanding of how to create and control a realistic
wave. You will learn the basics of wave creation and then progress to
building a tool for creating waves with precision and control. We will
also cover the best techniques for setting up an efficient simulation,
as well as how to create dense and complex whitewater without
overloading your computer.

This course is designed for those with a basic understanding of
Houdini, but it is suitable for both hobbyists and seasoned VFX
professionals. By the end of this course, you will have a thorough
understanding of Houdini's procedural capabilities and feel confident
in creating your own complex and realistic wave shots.

Prerequisites:

About the Author: Diogo started in the industry in 2011 as a 3d modeler assistant in Deep Blue Films.
Worked there for 7 years and became vfx supervisor in 2016.

In 2019 Diogo founded CGimagine, a vfx house mainly focused in vfx for TV series and Documentaries.

Since 2022 Diogo is working as a Senior FX artist at MPC Montreal.
