The 2021 Porsche Taycan EV Is Rear Drive Bliss

Often times, base model cars are a compromise. But the new entry-level version of Porsche’s electric Taycan offers a more intense rear drive dynamic than the all-wheel drive 4S and Turbo models. And with 200 pounds lifted from the front end there’s a lot to like when carving corners. True, it’s not as quick as it’s siblings and the “affordable” price begins at $81,250. But in Frozen Berry paint and Blackberry interior, it’s a conversation starter. Tom Voelk checks out a European spec Performance Battery Plus version with 469 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque.
