Making Brass Nameplates w/ Masking Tape Workholding - CNC Project #111

As part of a larger project, I needed to fabricate some brass nameplates that would go on a plaque. Since this meant fixturing sheet stock to my CNC, I thought I would take the opportunity to try out the use of masking tape and CA glue for workholding.

Materials shown:
Brass Sheets, 1/32" - http://amzn.to/2FmAwGf
CA Accelerator - http://amzn.to/2FqRLGp
Brass Polish - http://amzn.to/2BA985n
Brass Lacquer - http://amzn.to/2DKidub

The drag engraving bit I used is no longer available. Unfortunately, having not tested any others first hand, I don't have any recommendations at this time.

Note: In my pseudo-scientific test of ultimate strength of tapes, there is theoretically a measurable difference in the force perceived on each side of the block. The tape that's pulling up has to drag along the extra weight of the block (about 150 grams), which I assumed was within the margin of error.
