SPANA | International Working Animal Day 2022
Globally, an estimated 200 million working animals play a vital role in supporting families in low-income countries.
But the impact of these animals spans well beyond the countries where they work. In Western countries including the UK, many everyday products we enjoy – from tea and coffee to chocolate, sugar and flowers – reach our homes via the back of a working animal.
This International Working Animal Day, we are celebrating the vital role of working animals in people’s everyday lives – both to the low-income communities they serve and to all of us in the UK and other high-income countries.
