While I was in Korea I bought a bracelet. I flipped the bracelet over and noticed the phrase 소원성취 (Sowon Seong Chwee) which means may your wishes and dreams become reality. I immediately connected with the phrase (turns out it’s also etched into other sacred locations like the Buddha statue from the video)

When I was 13 my dad took a photo of me chasing seagulls on the beach. Cheesy as it seemed, I took that to mean always chase something even if you feel embarrassed, awkward, or that it’s impossible. Finding that bracelet turned this old impression into a statement I resonated with. I am full Korean but grew up in Utah, being able to connect my 13 yr old theme with an unfamiliar part of my identity made this trip, and my cheesy goals much more personal. I said this video would feel different, and it’s because I poured my heart and Seoul into it. Thanks for watching, thanks for reading, cheers
