Anjelica Moser (a Swiss Pole Vaulter)

Angelica Moser is a Swiss athlete specializing in pole vaulting. She was born on October 9, 1997, in Texas, USA, but grew up in Andelfingen in the Zürcher Weinland together with her parents and sister Jasmine. She has competed as a three-time Olympian. She holds a personal best of 4.88 meters and is an athlete sponsored by Puma.
Angelica started her athletic career in gymnastics at 3 years old, and still does weekly gymnastic sessions in Frauenfeld even today. Additionally, she got in contact with athletics at an early age, because her mother was and still is working as a coach.
Moser primarily trains in Magglingen, where she has access to excellent facilities. In addition to her high-performance sports competition, she is also studying business administration at the University of Bern.
She is a talented athlete who has earned many awards during her career; she won the 2021 European Championships in Toruń, and placed fourth at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Her personal bests in the event are 4.88 metres outdoors (Monaco 2024) and 4.75 metres indoors (Toruń 2021).
Her dedication and talent have earned her multiple national titles and international recognition such as the European Champion in 2024, the European Indoor Champion in 2021, the U23 European Champion in 2019 and two time Olympian in Rio in 2016 and in Tokyo in 2021 and fifth at the world championship in 2023.
Angelica's exceptional performances have made her a prominent figure in the pole-vaulting world, inspiring aspiring athletes, and captivating fans worldwide.
She is five-time Swiss Champion (2017, 2019–2022); six-time Swiss Indoor Champion (2017–2022).

Biography and career
She was graduated from the Römühle Sports School in Zurich. She was engaged in gymnastics.
In November 2012, she began training in pole vaulting under the guidance of Herbert Chingon.
She made her international debut in 2013 at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Utrecht, where she won with a result of 4.07 m.
In 2014, she won the Summer Youth Olympic Games, in 2015 - the European Junior Championships, in 2016 - the World Junior Championships.
In 2016, at her debut Olympics, she didn't make it to the final, taking 23rd place in the qualification. In March 2021, at the European Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland, she won the gold medal with a result of 4.75 m.
In Rome in early summer 2024, at the European Championships, she won the gold medal with a national record of 4.78 meters.
Her father Severin Moser is a former Swiss athlete. He competed in the men's decathlon at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
Her mother and coach Monika Moser is a former heptathlete. Her sister Jasmine Moser, born in 1995, was also a pole vaulter in her youth.
Angelica Moser wants to succeed both in sports and education. She is a top pole vaulter and is working on her master’s degree at the University of Bern. She believes studying helps her with her training and competitions.
