Environmentalists not happy with Corobrik
Environmentalists are calling on government to stop Corobrik from mining untapped surface coal deposits at its opencast clay facility near the Rietvlei Nature Reserve in Pretoria. The leading brick manufacturer has had its environmental plan approved by the Mineral Resources and Energy Department, sparking concerns over the impact the extraction activities might have on the environment. But the company says it's not in the coal mining business.
