New blue great dane puppy 🐾 💕

As you all know, every week I share a piece of our lives with you in a “Margot Monday” post. Last week, however, was a bit different. We welcomed our baby Jorge into our lives, and amidst the excitement, I wanted Margot Monday to stay at the top of my feed as we adjusted to our new family addition. Today, I want to share a special story - the story of how we met Jorge. And dedicate it to todays #margotmonday We were originally looking for a fawn or brindle Great Dane puppy from another spectacular litter that was on the ground - a litter I’ve been waiting for, for years. Unfortunately, that didn’t pan out. But, as they say, when one door closes, another opens. During a specialty dog show in Ohio, we met Jorge. Jorge and her littermate were at the show with their breeder. We fell in love with her the instant we met her. She was fun and adorable but had already been placed with a family. We spent the week in Ohio surrounded by great people and Great Danes. And Jorge. When I originally shared this video as a story with Jorge and my husband, many of you asked, “Is this your new puppy?” It broke my heart to say, “No.” but truthfully, she was not ours. The show came to an end. We parted ways. Us, headed back to NY and Jorge heading home. Saying goodbye was difficult! I picked her up and kissed her all over, as if I would never see her again. But life had other plans. Just a few days after returning home to NY, we received a call. Jorge’s situation had changed, and she was offered to us. The joy that filled our hearts is indescribable. It felt like destiny. Jorge has brought so much happiness into our lives, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this unexpected twist of fate. Remember, life may not always go as planned, but it often surprises us just when we need it the most.
