In this guitar lesson we will learn all the positions of the D major scale, this method will use the whole fretboard and will go through all the guitar modes so you can start improvising all around the neck. The modes for the D major scale are: D Ionian, E Dorian, F# Phrygian, G Lydian, A Mixolydian, B Aeolian and C# Locrian. We will learn 5 modes/positions within the D major scale and this will be enough for you to have a scale map of the guitar fretboard and you can start improvising/playing lead guitar. I will also tell you what chords you can use for the D major scale and will do a little improvisation so you can hear how it sounds.
