Pretending to be injured to troll the fans at Camden Yards
This player on the Arizona Diamondbacks had fun messing with Orioles fans -- and then his team got beat. Serves him right! (But actually it was pretty funny.)
And meanwhile, there are ass-slaps, and then there are ASS-SLAPS, and if you watch this video all the way through, you'll see poor "Ron" being on the receiving end of the latter. This might in fact be the most powerful ass-slap in the history of Major League Baseball. Think about how teammates congratulate each other after big moments; high-fives are often exchanged with gusto, but when (presumably) heterosexual men are moved to touch each other's buttocks, it's usually done as a subdued formality. But here on the Flag Court in Baltimore, this was a premeditated and -- dare I say! -- violent and non-consensual ass-slap perpetrated against the unsuspecting Ron. And yet our subject seemed okay with it, perhaps too distracted by the adrenaline of having snagged a game-used baseball to fully notice what had just transpired. Or maybe Ron was fully aware but didn't want to give any attention (positive or negative) to his "friendly" attacker. It's a compelling case study in the behavior of young adult inebriated males, and I must admit that I was glad to witness it. What's YOUR interpretation of this most peculiar and entertaining situation?
Aside from the "Ron" incident and other drunken hijinks, there was an interleague MLB game being played between the Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks. I arrived late at the stadium, and there was no batting practice because of crappy weather, so I faced quite a challenge from a ballhawking perspective, but hey, Camden Yards is incredible. That's all there is to it.
