Luna Penelope McMahon: UC San Diego Commencement 2025 Student Speaker

A first-generation Latinx student from San Diego, California, Luna Penelope McMahon
is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in global health and a minor in general biology.
At UC San Diego, Luna has served as the director of community affairs for Associated
Students Local Affairs, as a Chancellor’s Associates Scholars Program scholar and
mentor, and as a student ambassador/liaison for the County of San Diego Behavioral
Health Services. As a passionate leader and advocate for health equity and public
service, McMahon is committed to making a positive impact on campus and the
broader community. She will be pursuing a master’s in health care administration at
Cornell University after graduation.
