Welcome to what is my favourite Elton John Bootleg. Providence 1989!
I can't say why this is my favourite show, maybe its the quality of the audio? Maybe Elton's vocal shape? Maybe the atmosphere? Maybe all of them? Who knows!

The show is the second "SWTP" concert, with Elton sounding incredible. Of course there are some rough patches and flubs... I Dont Wanna Go On With You Like That once again being the prime example with Elton practically signing the first verse twice. But we will brush over that.
Come Down In Time and Stones Throw From Hurtin' both feature in this audio.
The audio quality is rather clear, but it does have a couple of cuts which I have tried to edit to make it run more smoothly.

Elton does seem to be in a rather good mood at this show. Very gutsy with phrasing. Its a shame this standard wasn't met through most of the tour. As only 3 shows later in Mansfield, we have a congested, coughing, sick sounding Elton. Probably the usual culprit at the time, but nonetheless we should enjoy this show for how good it is in every element.
