Welcome to this lesson on Nuclear Decay. In this video, we will cover the important theory and problem-solving methods of Nuclear Decay, a key topic in Class 12 Physics and very important for JEE Advanced 2026 preparation.
Nuclear Decay is the process in which an unstable atomic nucleus loses energy by emitting radiation. This happens when the nucleus changes on its own to become more stable. During this process, the nucleus may release alpha particles, beta particles, or gamma rays, which can form a new element or isotope.
The decay process is random for a single atom, but for a large number of atoms it follows a predictable pattern. This behavior is explained using the concept of half-life, which is the time required for half of the radioactive atoms in a sample to decay.
In this session, we will also solve important JEE Advanced level questions, understand key formulas, and learn short tricks to solve problems faster in the exam. 📚✨
