these recipes uses phyllo dough to make this baklava from scratch recipe a breeze!
not only will you learn how to make Baklava the greek way ( some say the original way!) but also the Turkish way that usually uses more spices and a secret ingredient ( can you guess what it is?)

traditional GREEK BAKLAVA:

Ingredients
* 1 (16 ounce) package phyllo dough
* 1 pound chopped nuts ( here i use walnuts)
* 1 cup butter or margarine or vegan butter
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional but oh so delicious!)
* 1 cup water
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ( optional)
* ½ cup honey
* Juice of one lemon and 1tbsp of rose water ( optional)

traditional TURKISH BAKLAVA:
* 1 (16 ounce) package phyllo dough
* 1 pound chopped nuts ( a mix of almond, pistachio and nuts is great!)
* 1 cup butter or margarine or vegan butter
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 cup water
* 2 cups white sugar
* 2 tsp of lemon zest
1-2 tsp of rose water ( optional)
1/2 tsp of all spice ( optional)
