HUGE VINTAGE HAUL | PICKING FOR PROFIT | SHOPPING FOR RESALE

What Sold in Florida? | Ohio River Haul | Picking for Profit & Reselling

A lot of folks have asked me lately to share what I’ve bought and sold at the Florida shows I’ve videoed this winter! I found a lot of fun vintage gear along the Ohio River, and this video shows pieces I bought there to sell in the Sunshine State. Since this video is about resale shopping and reselling, I talk more extensively about what I spent, and what I got in return..

I like to focus mostly on the joy, stories and intrigue surrounding antiques and vintage goods, since that’s what really drives interest (and prices). I also realize that price information is part of education, so I’ve updated this haul video from the beginning of the Florida show season to tell you what sold (and for how much)!

The haul itself is my favorite part, there were lots of fun goodies! Store display items ranging from a pulp fiction novel rack to advertising clocks appear, along with fun and kitschy 1950s lamps, mechanical bottle stoppers and a vibrant art deco beverage set.

Sales were good in Florida, and many of these items flew right out of my show stock. What item commonly associated with Alaska sold in Palm Beach? Is the shell McCoy if it doesn’t say so? What did an Idaho beauty queen and Minnie Pearl have in common? We answer those riddles, and reveal values we saw as people added to their collections.

A list of other highlights appears below…

I hope my review of buying and reselling at antique shows helps you learn more about antique and vintage items, inspires your own collecting and educates you about what I see as a reseller! I’m excited to share my real world vintage encounters with the online community, I love sharing our passion and hope we will all help each other with our antique education.

Here’s some more of all that’s in the haul:

McCoy shell dish, folk art sign, Sony radio, Blenko glass, Santa Claus Land souvenir, cigarette lighters, trade card, 1970s dress, Metlox Contempora, Mountie character jug, Shakespeare bookends, Judd camel bookends, Black composition dolls, folk dolls, 1950s lipstick compact, vintage costume jewelry, swan on nest, Bessie Pease Gutmann type print, Chinese watercolor, Chinese occupational prints, signed Boxing poster, Florida shell lamp, Murano glass bowls, colored aluminum ashtray, Syroco Hollywood Regency style clock, Fenton cranberry pitcher, etc.
