This is a video of me reengaging the shift linkage on my brothers 2009 Rubicon. Once the shift linkage pops off it can be a pain to get it properly seated back on there, however go to the dealership and get the $2 plastic clip instead of just throwing the cable back on there without it as I was doing because it will keep slipping off. Below are instructions of how I did it.
1. Get your car on a level surface.
2. Locate the shift linkage and confirm that it is disengage.
3. Put the shift lever in 2wd even if it is disengaged as this will give you more slack in the line and allow you to work with it easier.
4. Take the plastic clip and shove a wide flathead screwdriver threw it and push it hanger side through the shift linkage.
5. Push the shift linkage onto the shift lever on your transfer case and if necessary carefully use a screwdriver or two to push the plastic clip (which is now pushed through the linkage cable) onto the shift lever.
6. Go tear shit up.

The referrence point I am giving is the driver side door, fender, tire, etc. It should not be too hard to find. Good luck.
