HERE I GO AGAIN - (unknown female vocal group - composer demo acetate) - Bell Sound Studios (1965)

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Unreleased 7" South Mountain Music Corp. acetate disc) From the pen of New York based composer, producer and engineer, Ross A. 'Tony' May, this is a demo recording of the tune, 'Here I Go Again'. Recorded in early 1965 at New York City's Bell Sound Studios, it is unknown (for the time being) who the featured female vocal group is on the disc but their performance is indeed quite spectacular to say the least. The only known version of the song found itself as the B-side to a May 1965 release by Gayle Harris on DCP International. That Don Costa produced and arranged version is fine but these ears find the demo version, although somewhat sparse in production, far superior. The office for South Mountain Publishing was also in the same building as Bell Sound and was owned by Don Costa, Teddy Randazzo and Terry Knight. It is speculated that the vocalists on the demo version could possibly have been the Crampton Sisters who issued three singles for DCP International between January and September of 1964. Their next single release was not until one year later in September 1966 on ABC Records, the fantastic and quite collectible, 'Hey Boy', b/w 'Baby, Baby' so this could have been intended as their DCP International swan song release before switching labels. Hopefully the identity of the voices will be known and brought to light in the not so distant future.
