Kshamenk needs his story to cross borders and be known in every corner of the planet.

For 10 years, local activists have been fighting for him and for the closure of aquariums in Argentina.
Different groups have joined forces in DAM Derechos Animales Marinos, to make criminal complaints, requests for reports and present a Bill in the Congress of the Argentine Nation.

We want everyone to know the story of Kshamenk:
Kshamenk was captured when he was swimming peacefully with his family by Mundo Marino aquarium on November 19, 1992, in Samborombón Bay in the Province of Buenos Aires.

They forced them to beach themselves with two boats and a net spread between them. Weights were attached to their tail fins and carried off one by one.

The 2 smallest were placed in a dolphin pool at the back of the aquarium. At night they heard repetitive blows... It was one of the orcas that hit its head against the walls, over and over again, until its skull exploded. The orca died by suicide. And from that massacre caused by Mundo Marino, only the smallest of all remained: Kshamenk, who was approximately 5 years old.
Since then he has lived confined in Mundo Marino and being exploited daily for shows.

He has not been with another orca since his mate, Belén, died in February 2000.

He’s in a 40 feet diameter pool, along with a female bottlenose dolphin named Floppy.

Floppy was used by Mundo Marino to sexually stimulate Kshamenk in order to extract his sperm, under instructions from SeaWorld, in 2010. That genetic material was sold to SeaWorld to inseminate Kasatka and Takara. From these laboratory unions Makani, a male orca (from Kasatka) and a female Kamea orca (from Takara) were born.

We seek that Kshamenk be transferred to a sanctuary and withdrawn from Mundo Marino, since the Argentine National State denied him ownership of the aquarium, it does not belong to them.
