Srishti Tuli, a 25-year-old Air India pilot, was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on November 25, 2024. Originally from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, she had been residing in Mumbai for her job since June 2023.

Prior to her death, Tuli had a heated argument with her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, who was traveling to Delhi at the time. During his journey, Tuli reportedly called Pandit, expressing intentions to end her life. Pandit immediately returned to Mumbai, but upon arrival, he found Tuli's apartment locked from the inside. After gaining access with the help of a keymaker, Tuli was discovered hanging with a data cable. She was rushed to Seven Hills Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Tuli's family accused Pandit of harassment, emotional abuse, and financial exploitation, alleging that he coerced her into transferring money and controlled her dietary habits. They claimed that Pandit had forced Tuli to stop eating non-vegetarian food and had borrowed approximately ₹65,000 from her. Based on these allegations, Pandit was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide under Section 108 of the Bombay Police Act.

Investigations revealed that Tuli had made a video call to Pandit before her death, indicating her distress. Authorities are examining their WhatsApp conversations and financial transactions to gather more evidence. Pandit's lawyer argued that he had made multiple attempts to contact Tuli and had rushed back to Mumbai upon receiving her distressing call, suggesting that his intentions were not malicious.

In January 2025, a Mumbai court granted bail to Aditya Pandit, noting that Tuli had not filed any formal complaints against him prior to the incident. The case has sparked discussions about mental health, the impact of emotional abuse, and the importance of addressing such issues proactively.
