Canada’s Mastermind Toys files for creditor protection

Well-known Canadian specialty toy and children’s book retailer Mastermind GP Inc. has been granted protection from its creditors as it struggles to restructure amid financial challenges and a slowing economy. It’s seeking permission to close some stores after the holiday season as it wrestles with millions in debt.
