React POS App - Load Cart Data (Part 34)

In Part 34 of the React POS App series, we focus on how to load cart data on page load and display saved order items inside the cart automatically. This lesson is an important step in building a complete React POS System because it improves user experience by restoring cart data from browser storage and updating totals instantly.

You will learn how to create a load cart function using localStorage, convert saved JSON data back into objects, and store it inside the React state. We also build a function to calculate gross total, tax amount, and net total, then update the values on the screen with proper currency formatting. Along with that, we disable the order button when the cart is empty and create a reset order function to clear cart data and refresh products for a new order.

This tutorial also covers how to render cart items in a table, show product name, quantity, unit price, item total, and display a message when no items exist in the cart. If you are building a React JS POS System, Point of Sale React JS project, or a React Node.js MySQL project, this video will help you understand practical cart state management in a real-world application.

This series is great for beginners and developers who want to build a full stack POS system using React, Node.js, Express, and MySQL.
