Savon Bartley is a poet, writer, and teaching artist known for his dynamic readings. Featured at venues around the world such as the Apollo Theater, MTV UK, and The United Nations, his work is a reflection of his experiences with mental health, black masculinity, and social justice. Savon has represented New York and New Jersey on the national poetry slam level multiple times and placed 3rd in the world in 2013 at Brave New Voices. His exhilarating performances have allowed him to tour internationally as well as work in theater, film, and television alongside The Wu Tang Clan, The Black Panthers, Russel Simmons, and Tony Award winners. Author of Extended Play: A Literary Mixtape, his published work can be found or forthcoming in Suspect Press, The Careless Embrace of the Boneshaker Anthology, Slate Magazine, Blavity, and Suspect Press.
