I was chased by wild donkeys. New steer tires probably saved my life | Trucking life lessons
Many of you know I am not just a Truck Driver who makes videos on YouTube. I have job duties far too numerous for me to ever get done all by myself so I am generally always playing some form of catch-up.
We have a good team of people who work for Bright Mountain and Happiness By The Mile, but just like the seasons, lives and situations change, so we have to adjust. Trying to run a trucking company in these times has taken almost everything out of me.
The pain of the diesel crisis hit home quite hard. Idling my truck was not on my list of to-do’s, but I had Dakota with me out here. We spent a lot of time outside of the truck to try and stay away from the heat of the summer. It started to become too much because when I could comfortably sleep with the truck off some nights, she could not. So I had to take her and drop her off at home to be watched. I honestly just couldn’t afford it.
Not only that our loads were sparse and we needed to make a change so all the people that rely on Bright Mountain for a job, had a job to come back to. That took priority. I would be lying if I said I was not just hunkering down and being strictly a driver and business owner since the beginning of this year.
So to begin, let me explain the changes we’ve made recently. We are no longer with any faction of FedEx. It’s not that FedEx is not a good opportunity, but it wasn’t the right fit for us.
Now we are with a company called Panther, under ArcBest, and have been doing much better. I have also been dealing with personal issues as well as business issues. This has led me to just bury myself in work so I didn’t have to experience my mental turmoil. I think we are now to the point of this healing journey where I can come back to making videos. So here is my first video in a while.
Thank you for your continued support. Keep on truckin’
