For your listening pleasure, I present the original recording of the Shirelles singing "Baby It's You." This version is the one that hit the charts in 1961, rising as far as #8 on Billboard in December of 1961. I've seen at least one request for the original on other YouTube versions of this song by The Shirelles, so I dug deep into my collection and found this gem. This is the original version released on 45 single.

I think this version is far superior to all of the remakes I've heard, including those by a later grouping of The Shirelles. Singing lead, Shirley Owens (later Alston-Reeves)' voice is hot, and as a result, this version just smolders and smokes in my humble opinion! Enjoy!
