Al-Jahiz: The First Scholar and Zoologist | The Theory of Evolution 1,000 Years Before Darwin

Al-Jahiz (776-868) was a philosopher, poet, zoologist , biology, and writer, one of the Islamic scientists. Born in Bazra, Iraq, He is reported to have produced 350 books in various fields; such as biology, animals, plants, insects, anthropology, economics, trade and geography. His career began to reach its peak as a writer when his work entitled Books of Animals ( Kitab al-Hayawan or Animal Book) succeeded in making his name among the most famous writers. The pages of The Book of Animals contain more than illustrations. Al-Jahiz can rightly be called an early evolutionary scientist becouse, His work predates Darwin’s by a millennium, and was more than 1,000 years before Charles Darwin in proposing ideas about evolution and natural selection. This book is the reason Al-Jahiz his considered "The Father of The Theory of Evolution".
