Vehicle AC Repair EPA Section 609 Certification: What it is, Why it matters, and My Test Experience

In this video we learn about US federal government regulation of the servicing of automotive air conditioning repairs and refrigerants due to environmental impacts from the refrigerants. We learn what an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 609 Certification is all about and whether it applies to those doing automotive air conditioning repair as a hobby or side gig, rather than as a professional repair facility. I summarize the key aspects of the regulations, my recommendations, as well as review my personal choice for the 609 certification study guide and test, which was from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
