Today I want to give you my brothers and sisters a gift. In this video, I will show you how to replace the broken locking tab of the center console of your Landcruiser 100 series or Lexus LX 470 for under 30 dollars. It is not if but when will the tab break. When it does, many of us will be left with the choices of either buying the entire console from the dealer for hundreds of dollars since they will not sell you just the broken piece or finding the lid/console from a parted vehicle which will cost you way north of a 100 dollars. Well, after years of extensive research (haha), I have discovered my own rendition on how to just remove the locking piece and replace it. I have come with a way to make this possible without ungluing the leather top piece from the console which will certainly result in damaging the console. There is a video which addressed this issue by drilling two holes in the center console which most of you are not willing to drill unnecessary holes in your precious rig. Well, fret no more. This video will show you how to replace it with no damage, drilling or alteration to the center console. Lastly, I will be putting the replacement locking tabs for sale on ebay for those of your who wish to take on the repair yourself.
