Tribute show for Adriaan 🕊️✨ Aka Damian

I immediately knew what song I would use for this show. The act wasn’t choreographed, nor rehearsed. I wanted to feel the feels and just move to the music as it lead me.

While listening to the track at home and in the car, the emotions filled my body and tears would flow. I managed (I don’t know how) to not cry during the performance (just) and felt the collective strength from my peers and audience who were all there for the same reason. To celebrate a great human, a wonderful performer, a cheeky little devil who left our orbit far too soon. 💫

There are memories and reminders of him everywhere I look, and the pain and grief runs so deep.

Adriaans first burlesque performance was on my Speakeasy stage and his legacy will live on as he has made such an impact on so many of us.

I’ll always be your burlesque mama and dear friend ✨🕊️

We will continue to dance
We will continue to love the music
And as Freddie said, “the show must go on”
I just wish you were still here to do it with us
It won’t be the same without you
