「刺し子」の図案で作る鍋敷きとコースター　Mat pots and coasters made with a traditional Japanese embroidery designs

アシェット・コレクションズ・ジャパン(株)さんより、2021年1月27日（水）に創刊予定の『はじめての刺し子』を提供していただきました。(o^^o)
「刺し子」は今から約500年前、庶民の生活の知恵から編み出された日本の伝統的な刺繍です。
冬の厳しい寒さを凌ぐための防寒、あるいは衣服の補強として、「刺し子」による刺繍を施したことがその始まりとされています。
付属の冊子にはいろいろな図案が掲載されていて、日本古来の伝統の図柄にとても魅せられました。
今回は、一番印象に残った図柄を布で表現してみました。
新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大下の中、長引く「おうち時間」で伝統工芸「刺し子」を多くの方々に知っていただければと思い、動画を作りました。

"Sashiko" is a traditional Japanese embroidery that was created from the wisdom of ordinary people about 500 years ago.
It is said that the beginning was embroidery with "sashiko" to protect against the severe cold of winter or to reinforce clothes.
The attached booklet contains various designs, and I was very fascinated by the traditional patterns from ancient Japan.
This time, I tried to express the most memorable pattern with cloth.
With the spread of the new coronavirus infection, I made a video with the hope that many people will know the traditional craft "Sashiko" during the prolonged "house time".
