There are so many strategies out there from value investing to momentum and just that idea of trying to time the market. I think I’ve experimented with every one of them, both in my own personal portfolio and as a professional analyst…and like a lot of you, I haven’t always made money.

Now I’m a big proponent of using the business cycle as a signal for seeing stock market weakness over the next six months or further out, but you’ll never time a stock market crash down to the day or even the month.
